Inter-Library Loans

The Inter-Library Loans Service provides postgraduate students, researchers and academic staff with access to information resources not held by our Library. We also supply material from our own stock to other libraries.

If you have searched our Library Catalogue and we do not have a book, journal article or other material you require for your research, the Inter-Library Loans team can apply to another library for the item.

In order to comply with copyright requirements, you must declare as part of the request process that the material you are requesting is for your own personal research or study and will not be used for any commercial purpose.

An article usually takes two to four days to arrive, and will usually arrive electronically by email. Print materials, or a hardcopy of a journal article, can take between five and ten days.

Patrons should be aware that books borrowed under inter-library loan are not the property of the Library and are loaned to us by partner institutions subject to conditions. The ILL system works on trust and in order to maintain a good relationship with our partners we would ask patrons to respect the rules.
