Learn the basics of TinkerCAD, a simple online computer aided design app, and start creating your own designs to 3D print.

We'll go through placing shapes, moving them, adjusting the size and orientation, customising shapes and combining shapes to make anything you want. TinkerCAD is a perfect tool for those who have no experience in 3D design and want to wrap their heads around the basics before moving on to more advanced programmes like Autodesk Inventor and Solidworks.

In this online workshop, participants will be introduced to creative coding with Processing, including becoming familiar with the Processing interface, its capacities, and potential applications. Students will also be introduced to on-line learning resources and support for Processing. All participants are asked to download the latest version of Processing prior to the workshop.(https://processing.org/download/)

No prior experience for coding is required for this workshop.

About the Workshop Facilitator:
Dr. EL Putnam is Lecturer in Digital Media at the Huston School of Film and Digital Media in NUI Galway. She is also an artist-philosopher working in digital technologies and performance, who has exhibited widely in the United States and Europe. Informal workshop on PC/Laptop components along with interactive dissection of a PC and how to rebuild/up cycle into a new PC.

In this short informal workshop, we'll take a PC, break it down and build it back up again and/or learn how to up cycle it. Attendees will have the opportunity to work hands on with a PC/Laptop learning about the different components and how they work. We will also briefly touch upon free Linux alternatives to Windows and the advantages/disadvantages of using the top 3 versions.

This workshop is aimed at those with little to no experience in PC building. Beginners or anyone with an interest in PC's welcome to attend.
