The Law collection is a mix of print and electronic sources which ensure that Law students, researchers and staff have access to a wide range of national and international materials.

Law Books
The law books collections contains materials between the dewey numbers 340-349. All the principle areas of Irish, United Kingdom and International legal books will be within this sequence. Please note that other books in broader legal areas such as human rights, criminology etc. may be on floor 1 of the Library. Use the Library Catalogue when looking for books.
Law Reference
The reference collection contains the major works for legal research, including legal encyclopedias, annotated statutes, digests, legal dictionaries and legal bibliographies. Murdoch's Irish Legal Companion is an excellent online source. Oxford Reference Online also contains many legal dictionaries and reference sources.
Law Reports
The Library maintains a wide collection of Irish, UK, European and International Legal Reports. These are supplemented widely by electronic access via Justis , WestlawUK, Lexis-Nexis, WestlawIE and other databases. We also hold selected unreported judgments from the High Court and Supreme from 1968-

Journals
The Library holds all Irish legal periodicals and the major UK, European and International titles. These are shelved in dewy classification order in the Journals area at the back of the ground floor. We have access to 1000s of other journals in electronic form thanks to the IReL initiative. For example all law journals published by Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press, Blackwell Synergy, Project Muse etc. are now available to us. We have access to many hundreds of American journal titles through LexisNexis, WestlawUK, HeinOnline amongst others.
The Library catalogue lists all our Law Journals with links where possible to the electronic versions as well. The Find E-Journal option is also a good source.

The Cardiff Index to Legal Abbreviations is a very useful resource for locating full titles of journals and reports.
Databases
The Library accesses a number of quality legal databases which provide broad access to journals, legislation, case reports. Justis , Lexis-Nexis, WestlawUK, Westlaw IE are some of our most popular resources. OurLaw E-Resources page provides a full list of databases available. Also the Cross Search option in Metalib (requires login) allows you to search a number of databases with law content at the same time e.g. Index to Legal Periodicals, Academic Search Premier, JSTOR amongst others.

Law Reform Commission Reports
The Library has developed a distinct collection of publications of Law Reform Commissions from Ireland, United Kingdom, Scotland, Australia. Many of these and other law reform commission reports are also available electronically. Use the Library catalogue to check on our holdings.
