New Location for General Information Queries

Since the refurbishment of the library foyer in the summer of 2008, the old Information Point desk and computer suites have been replaced by the offices of the information librarians for the Colleges of Arts, Humanities and Celtic Studies, and Science, Engineering and Informatics. Subject librarians and information assistants are available for specialist enquiries from students and staff in these departments.

Law and Commerce related queries are now dealt with in the old law library, at the back of the ground floor, which houses the subject librarians for the College of Business, Public Policy, & Law.

Enquiries from external users who wish to apply for temporary membership of the library are also dealt with in the law and commerce office - for more information about services for external users click here.

Customer Services

• General/Directional Enquiries about campus locations;
• Using the Library Catalogue;
• Help with electronic resources such as databases, Internet etc.;
• Referral to subject librarians for specialist information;
• Referral to other staff as appropriate - i. e. systems, admin, stewards;
• Help in using the microfilm/microfiche collections;
• Help with library accounts (fines, pin numbers, renewing books);
• Help with using self-issue machines.
