Guide to Finding Books and Journals

The Library catalogue is the key tool for getting hold of the books and journals you need for your studies. 

Our catalogue allows you to search not just for books and journals physically held in the library, but also e-books, e-journals and databases.  It even allows you to search within certain databases, so that you can identify content right down the level of a journal article that will be useful for your study or research.

Within the catalogue system you can place a hold on a book if the book you need is currently on loan to someone else and can renew the books you have on loan so as to avoid paying fines.

We hold training sessions every day from Monday to Thursday at 11.00 in the Library Training Room to help you learn how to use the catalogue in the most efficient and effective way.  No booking required - just drop in.  We also run sessions at 7pm Monday to Friday and at 11.00 on Saturday morning.
