In this chapter, we first perform an empirical survey of RDF-based applications over most of the past decade, from 2003 to 2009. As the Linked Data principles where introduced in 2006, this allows us to describe the current state-of-the-art for developing and deploying applications using RDF and Linked Data. It also allows us to determine how far the adoption of signature research topics, such as data reuse, data integration and reasoning, has progressed.en_US
